So this is my first venture in to the realm of building a business. Of course that meant getting together quite a few bits and pieces. Living in Australia makes some things a little bit easier than others, e.g. registering a business name. For other things I used on-line tools, e.g. crowdSPRING for my logo and business cards.
So what have I been up to?
- registered a URL domain
- used Tank to build my site
- used crowdSPRING to get a logo and business card
- used my accountant to register a business name and an ABN (Australian Business Number)
- used Google apps to host e-mail, calendar and Google docs.
- spoke to my brother Alan quite a bit (find him over at Tank)
A lot of thinking about the logo (great experience using crowdSPRING). Thinking about how to position the site and the messages on it. And of course lots and lots of trial and error.
My feeling is that it is all coming together quite nicely.
